Question by Dr MK Khaishagi: Al Qaeda should tell civilians to leave USA & Europe to avoid civilian casualties to prove itself “democracy”?
Israeli and American Terrorist attacks around the world are mischeviously justified by claiming that civilians were warned to leave the area.
E.g. Israel told the Southern Labanes civilians to leave South Labanon and this is used to justify the barbaric attacks on fleeing civilians.
By the same logic Al Qaeda’s actions will become “democracy” and “freedom” if they ask the Americans and Europeans to leave their countries.

Question by Capitalism is Slavery: Considering our history of destroying democracy abroad, can we really call ourselves “a beacon of freedom”?
and by “destroying Democracy abroad”, I mean replacing Nicaragua’s democratically elected leader with a dictator, overthrowing the elected Socialist leader of Iran with the Pahlavi dynasty, overthrowing Socialist leader of Chile Salvador Allende (also elected democratically) and replacing him with Augusto Pinochet, the CIA’s hand in assassinating Patrice Lumumba and supporting his authoritarian successori Mobutu Sese Seko, are long policy of appeasement towards South African apartheid, the support of autocrat Ferdinand Marcos, and the invasion of the Dominican republic upon the assassination of long time US funded tyrant (killed 30,000 haitians over them being illegal immigrants) Rafael Trujillo.
did I miss anyone?
anyways, how can we truly call ourselves a “Beacon of Freedom and Democracy” when we starved democratic movements around the world (if they didn’t fit our image) and supported repressive dictatorships? (the end never justifies the means)
@Ted: that’s not true, they became stable and prosperous due to copious amounts of US financial aid and investment. it has nothing to do with the free market at all. and Chile wasn’t that bad off before that, which is why the overthrow of Allende was completely unjustified.
@Reagan-avatar-guy: the dismantling of democracy in DR, Congo, Iran, and Chile are NOT mistakes. nice way to innocently write it off though.
