Do you know Fox News is on an incomprehensible campaign to convince Americans that “America is not a Democracy?

Question by future: Do you know Fox News is on an incomprehensible campaign to convince Americans that “America is not a Democracy?
THEY REALLY SAY THIS!!!

Meanwhile as our young men and women in the military are dying all over world trying to “BRING THESE COUNTRIES DEMOCRACY” (George Bush).
It really makes you wonder what the hell is wrong with these people.
There you go again.
“Democracy” is not a system of government – it just means we get to vote.
And nobody ever SAID we were a “direct” Democracy, or “Democracy only”, or any other ridiculous thing Fox claimed.
The claim that America is not a Democratic Country is a ludicrous lie – the kind of lie and misinformation Fox News are experts at.
And as soon as it comes to healthcare reform – what is their first claim?
“THE PEOPLE DON’T SUPPORT IT!”
As usual, everything they say is only true as long as it’s convenient for them, and discarded the instant it isn’t anymore.
Saying “America is a Federal Democratic Republic” is LIGHT YEARS away from saying “America is not a Democratic Country” which is just completely moronic.
So amazing people can’t see that.
It’s just because “Democracy” sounds a little bit like “Democrat.”
And “Republican” sounds a bit like “Republican”.
They are so predictable – figuring out what Fox News is up to is about as hard as figuring out what a room full of kindergarteners is up to.
Right Wing Extremist – ONCE AGAIN, nobody SAID America is a Direct Democracy. Nobody EVER DID!!!!
I think you have to seriously wonder what Conservatives TRUE motivation might be for making such an outrageous claim. I have a few ideas…

In a technical sense, America is a Representative Republic as opposed to a True Democracy, which would require a popular vote for every issue.

Q&A: Why do “republicans” in the U.S. attempt to build “democracy” around the world?

Question by Hatch0301: Why do “republicans” in the U.S. attempt to build “democracy” around the world?
I already know the answer… but it’s still fun to talk about…

Our country is a hybrid of the two systems… being that we vote for our representatives and then our representatives vote for us…

Also, when it comes to party affiliations, the terms “republican” and “democrat” have nothing to do with their way of governing.
