Honduras — Democracy’s Final Triumph

(1.27.10) — Freedom, justice and democracy triumph today as new Honduras President Porfirio Lobo is inaugurated, ending the months-long standoff between would-be leftist dictator Manuel Zelaya and those on the side of liberty. Sadly, United States President Barack Obama embarrassed himself and his country before the world by standing with Zelaya following the disgraced Honduran leader’s removal from office. Thankfully, however, Honduras and her allies stood tall and resisted the calls for the nation to cede its national sovereignty and rule of law. On this day, the culmination of Honduras success comes to pass. Let her example stand for a world yet besieged by tyranny.
